Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Check My Career, a service operated by Tej Enterprise (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use checkmycareer.com and our services. For data-protection purposes we act as the Data Fiduciary (the organisation that decides how your data is handled) under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act). By using our services you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — name, email address, mobile/WhatsApp number, and an encrypted password.
  • Profile details — gender, city, school/college or workplace, class/grade, stream, degree, and work experience.
  • Date of birth / age — to confirm whether you are an adult or a minor (under 18).
  • Parent/guardian details — for users under 18, a parent’s or guardian’s name and mobile number, to obtain their consent.
  • Assessment responses — the answers you give and the results/reports generated from them.
  • Payment information — handled by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not store your card or bank details on our servers.
  • Technical & usage data — device, browser, IP address, and how you use the site, for security and improvement.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Run your assessment and generate your personalised report;
  • Confirm a parent’s consent where the user is a minor;
  • Take payment and send receipts;
  • Provide support and respond to your requests;
  • Keep the service secure and prevent misuse;
  • Improve our assessments and service quality.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

3. Consent and how to withdraw it

We process your personal data based on the consent you give when you register and use the service (and, for minors, the consent of a parent/guardian). You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at checkmycareers@gmail.com or by deleting your account. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out before withdrawal, and some data may be retained where the law requires.

4. Children’s data (users under 18)

We take extra care with the data of children, in line with Section 9 of the DPDP Act:

  • For any user under 18, we obtain verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian before processing the child’s personal data.
  • We do not carry out behavioural tracking, profiling for advertising, or targeted advertising directed at children.
  • We do not knowingly process a child’s data in any way likely to harm their well-being.

5. Who we share your data with

We share data only with trusted service providers who help us run the service, under appropriate safeguards:

  • Razorpay — to process payments (India).
  • Google Firebase / Google Cloud — secure hosting and database.
  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
  • OpenAI — to generate the written analysis in your report. Relevant assessment results and limited profile data are sent to OpenAI’s systems (located in the United States) for this purpose (see “Transfers outside India” below).
  • Email delivery provider — to send your report link and service emails.

We may also disclose data where required by law, court order, or a lawful government request.

6. Transfers outside India

To generate your report’s written analysis, some data is processed by OpenAI in the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside India, we do so in line with the DPDP Act and apply appropriate safeguards. By using the service, you consent to this transfer for the purpose of generating your report.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 90 days after you ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correction — correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements);
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below);
  • Nomination — nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

You can exercise most of these rights from your account settings, or by emailing checkmycareers@gmail.com. We will respond within the timelines required by law.

9. How we keep your data safe

Your data is stored on secure Google Cloud (Firebase) infrastructure. All data transfers use encryption (HTTPS) and access is restricted to authorised personnel. Payment data is handled by Razorpay and is never stored on our servers. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

10. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the service working, and we may use analytics to understand and improve usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the service works.

11. Grievance Officer

In line with the DPDP Act, the Consumer Protection Act 2019, and the Information Technology Rules 2021, you may contact our Grievance Officer for any privacy concern or complaint:

  • Grievance Officer, Check My Career
  • Email: checkmycareers@gmail.com
  • Response time: within 15 working days.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or the law. The “Last updated” date above will always show the most recent version. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
